Introduction

Centrium Advanced has a scalable, multi-threaded, multi-tier client-server architecture that caters to a wide range of network sizes. It is highly customizable and has the capability to manage multi-service networks with heterogeneous network elements from diverse vendors. The NMS also has an easy usable GUI interface and can be accessed via a standard http browser.
           
The core Centrium Server and client provide network management functionality based on the TMN FCAPS (Fault, configuration, Accounting, Performance and Security) model. The management functions are performed over a map based GUI and support several user levels (administrator, operator, etc.) with appropriate privileges for performing management functions.

Performance Monitoring

Centrium’s Network Performance features help you improve service by proactively managing network performance and ensuring quality of service across the entire network infrastructure. It allows you to address a number of challenges including managing a diverse collection of devices from numerous vendors, isolating the source of performance degradation throughout the network, minimizing recurring WAN expenses and providing consistent reporting across heterogeneous network infrastructure.

Centrium processes the collected information from data collectors spanning SNMP data, Microsoft WMI data, service level data or protocol-specific data. Further, the solution's distributed architecture provides support for load balancing across multiple physical servers, eliminating performance bottlenecks due to a single hardware platform and therefore improving overall system performance.

Centrium's powerful multi-grouping mechanism in notification coupled with the correlation technologies sends notifications to multiple operators and multiple hierarchies. The escalation and acknowledgement features ensure that the critical alarms are addressed by the operators in time, assuring high service levels promised to the customer.

Centrium allows you to subscribe to the types of events whose occurrence requires your attention. When the defined type of event occurs, Centrium will notify you through a given notification method that you have configured, such as Email, DOS Batch file, SMS, Beep, SNMP trap, Batch Notifier API, and XML.
