Introduction

DX-1834 Modular Routers can provide SMB enterprises and branch offices of large enter­prises with a good price per­formance solution to meet their requirements of interoperability and deliver concurrent services of voice, video and data at optimal throughputs.

DX-1834 Modular Router adopts modular design to provide flexible module configurations, mak­ing it more convenient to re­place modules on site. Addi­tionally, DX-1834 can serve as access routers for applications of LAN-to-LAN and multiple services, adapted to small-to ­medium-sized enterprises, with many advantages such as high performance, security and reliability.

High Performance

DX-1834 Router supports high routing performance, providing advanced QoS, security, and network integration features that would be required in today's evolving networks.

High Port Density

The modular architecture of the DX-1834 integrated router allows variety of interfaces to be populated on a compact unit. DX-1834 has 2#10/100 WAN Ethernet ports, 4#10/100 LAN Ethernet ports, three open WAN slots for WAN Modules and one console port. The DX-1834 allows mix and match of any available modules on a single Chassis.

Integrating narrowband features

DX-1834 supports Ethernet cable and fiber access modes, and XDSL broadband access. DX-1834 maintains V24/V35, E1/CE1, and ISDN narrowband access capabilities, meeting the application requirements of users for narrowband backup link, adapting the transition of carrier access lines, and providing the economical access choice for users.

Security and Reliability

DX-1834 provides the solutions of integrating data and security for middle/small enterprises. The security functions are inbuilt in the router, including firewall, HTTPS, PKI, AAA, SSH, attack proof, traffic analysis / control, network-surf management, security access control and many more features. It supports IPSec VPN, MPLS VPN, L2TP, and GRE tunnel technologies, the port security, 802.1X, IPSOURCE GUARD, DHCP, SNOOPING, and ARP dynamic detection of the switching port.

 Switching Features

DX-1834 is fitted with 4 # LAN FE ports, supporting VLAN, MSTP, 802.1X, 802.1P, IGMP SNOOPING, port mirroring, port isolation, Broadcast storm suppression,  meeting the requirements of the middle/small enterprises for the network with routing and switching at one box. Moreover, the switching port can switch to the WAN Ethernet port flexibly as desired. WAN Ethernet port also can support rich telecom-level Ethernet features.

Integrating multi-service features

The complete QoS and HQF features of routing and switching modules ensure the multi-service reliable control; support the development of the carrier IPTV and video monitoring service. DX-1834 supports voice interface and VoIP functions and provides H.323 and SIP clients; NAT supports SIP, H.323 ALG functions; can be expanded as IP PBX so that carriers can open the fixed voice services and develop the full-service space during the broadband access.

QoS functions

IP networks will be required to provide QoS to satisfy the ever-growing multi service business demands. DX-1834 routers can provide guaranteed bandwidth for various network services, with provision for queue management (such as PQ, FIFO and WFQ) and scheduling. DX-1834 offers a cost effective multifunction service platform for small-to-medium-sized enterprise applications.
