DX-2801E series with its rich software features provides various physical WAN connectivity options. The series has 4 WAN interface card slots to support multi homing and high port density based applications.

DX-2801E series router delivers un-matched performance through its non-blocking and robust architecture with unparalleled backplane bandwidth in a single unit. DX-2801E series router supports advanced internet routing protocols RIP v1, v2, OSPF, BGP4 delivering a consistent performance of 250 Kpps. DX-2801E series router also support the next generation Internet Protocol version 6(IPv6).

The router supports multiple WAN interfaces such as Ethernet, Symmetric Leased Line using V.35, ISDN and ensures high uptime to stub network. Apart from link backup options the router also supports VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol), router standby protocol for the redundancy of the unit, which can also offer device & link redundancy to the network.

DX-2801E series router provides unmatched Layer 4 QoS to utilize the bandwidth, ensuring optimal network performance. It also helps in classification, prioritization, traffic shaping, which offers reliable connectivity for enterprise applications including voice video and data. DX-2801E series Router supports various QoS features, congestion management queuing strategies such as PQ, CQ, FIFO, WFQ and CBWFQ, congestion avoidance strategies such as WRED and RED .

Using priority control, DX-2801E series router can discard non-conformant traffic in the network. DX-2801E series routers offer Traffic shaping to control traffic limit on each port. When traffic policing monitors various service levels, traffic shaping limits ingress and egress traffic on every port. Thus deploying this chassis exceeds the satisfaction of the user to achieve efficient and significant WAN requirements. Traffic shaping plays a dominant role especially.

Security:

DX-2801E series Modular router supports Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) and also supports RADIUS authentication protocol.DX-2801E series routers support IPsec and multiple protocols such as L2TP, PPTP and GRE to guarantee complete network security service as well as network performance.

SSH offers high security and reliability through encrypted and authenticated communications. It allows data to exchange over a secure channel. It allows users to login to DX-2801E series routers through SSH client and execute the commands.

DX-2801E series routers provide a complete set of security through Expert level ACL. Time based ACL allow implementing access lists based on the time of the day. It permits user to create a time range that fixes specific times of the day and week. The time range is identified by a name and then by a function, so that those time restrictions are imposed on the function itself. DX- 2801E allows user to have more control over permitting or denying access to resources.

Equipment Management Security:

DX-2801E series routers encrypted login and remote management of switch over SSHv1/v2 to avoid potential threats resulting from transmission of management information in plain text.

They provide restriction over source IP addresses for Telnet/Web login to prevent illegal users from managing network equipment. SNMPV3 is supported to provide encryption and authentication, ensuring that the data are sent from valid data sources (engine ID); data are not tampered during transmission (by using MD5 and SHA authentication protocols); and packets are encrypted for confidentiality (by using the DES encryption protocol).

Interoperability:

Interoperability being an important consideration, the DX-2801E series router adopts all major RFC standards and mainstream IEEE industrial standards for interoperability with third party vendors to ensure protection on investments.

Management:

DX-2801E series router offer system management via various modes flexible for the end user to choose. The System can be managed and monitored via SNMP protocol through any computer using Network management Software or via a standard internet web browser. The switch also supports Industry standard Command Line Interface (CLI) for configuration via console or Telnet and SSH for secured remote management. RMON support is provided for effective network management.

DX-2801E series routers has SNMP v3 which provides network management and security by authenticating and encrypting packets and ensure that the packets are not damaged and collected securely from the router.
