Auto sensing capability allows the switch to automatically sense whether the network device is running at 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps, and then adjusting itself for optimal performance. Auto Negotiating feature (full / half duplex) negotiates and runs the highest supported transmission rate, whether Half or Full Duplex. Auto MDI-MDIX offers auto- negotiating MDI-MDIX detection in all ports to eliminate the need of crossover cables or Straight cable.

DX-5028MG series differentiates and classifies traffic flows according to ports, 802.1p, ToS, DSCP, TCP/UDP ports, and assigns specific service hierarchy. The dispatcher WRR/SP supported by DX-5028MG ensures voice/data/video are properly classified and prioritized throughout the network.
Enhanced Security for Safe Environment
DX-5028MG supports Enhanced 802.1x Authentication and Accounting Solution, an authentication method based on ports and MAC address. This solution boosts security performance of DX-5028MG series by denying unauthorized access and prohibiting not allowed IP configuration. DX-5028MG is enabled to charge according to time and/or traffic, implement a strict binding of account, password, IP, MAC, VLAN, port and switch, prevent agent software, PC clone and message/advertisement to legal users, and even actualize user-based dynamic VLAN and bandwidth authorization and dynamic IP address assignment on group strategy basis. With all these features, DX-5028MG series is ideal for network access operation.
Advanced Management & backup support
With Industry standard Command Line Interface (CLI) via console port or Telnet, DX 5028MG provides a common user interface and command set for users to manipulate the switch. It features embedded user friendly web interface helping users to quickly and simply configure the switches. SNMPV1/V2/V3 management, four groups RMON for traffic management, monitoring and analysis are supported to enable networks to be managed efficiently. DX-5028MG also targets the management needs, by supporting DHCP client and BootP.
Dual stack support
DX-5028MG provides rich IPv4 and IPv6 features and protects customer investments. Now the DX-5028MG can support IPv6 host, IPv6 NMS, IPv6 ACL even IPv6 QOS. With the rich features support and Dual stack, the customer can provide whole IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack network and running IPv6 service.
