Introduction

DX-5725XGS is a high-performance, managed, stackable Layer 3 switch that provides an ideal solution for workgroups, departments and enterprises. DX-5725XGS has 24 10/100/1000 Base-T Ports, 4 Giga combo SFP ports, 2# 10G stacking ports with 1# optional 10 Giga expansion slot. DX-5725XGS is mainly designed to provide high density Gigabit desktop connectivity for mid-size and large enterprises. DX-5725XGS offers a scalable and resilient solution and provides exceptional security function and QoS features to support enhanced coverage of voice, video, data and storage.

DX-5725XGS provides comprehensive network management functions - Spanning Tree protocol for standard bridging, GVRP for VLAN configuration, SNMP, RMON and Web management. It delivers multi-layer Gigabit switching performance at the backbone of the network.

Eliminate Network's Bottleneck
To secure the bandwidth for highly bandwidth demanding applications, DX-5725XGS offers 116Gbps Switching fabric, and IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation. Port trunking enables business users to increase availability and aggregated bandwidth thus leading to a high level performance of the switch.

Advanced Stacking Architecture
The Single IP Management (SIM) technology & closed loop stacking architecture of DX-5725XGS allows a stack where switches are to be stacked through a single IP address. The entire virtual stack can be managed via a single IP address for simplified network administration. The closed loop stacking architecture is specially designed to protect the network investment with resilient links. If one of stacked units crashes, the other units in the same stack can keep running to a stacking bandwidth of 40 Gbps.

Advanced Management
DX-5725XGS targets your management needs, by supporting SNMP, RMON, DHCP, and BootP. It also supports advanced features which includes VLAN, DiffServ traffic prioritization 802.1p (QoS), port trunking, Spanning Tree and Port mirroring. Configuration files can be loaded and saved for flexibility and reliability. It supports L3 features like Static IP routes, Multi-netting, Supernetting (CIDR), RIP I & RIP II, OSPF routing, IP Multicast Routing: DVMRP, PIM-DM/SM,IP Redundancy - VRRP etc.

QoS and Bandwidth management

Quality of Service is vital to ensure proper flow control and bandwidth management in a network to differentiate between time sensitive VoIP applications and other network data transmissions. With IEEE 802.1p Quality of Service (QoS) feature and layer 3 packet classifications, DX-5725XGS provides the capability to prioritize various tasks on the network, a crucial function for integrating voice and data over a switched network

Great Fault Tolerance
Spanning tree is a link management protocol that provides path redundancy while preventing undesirable loops in the network. DX-5725XGS delivers not only the IEEE802.1D protocol (Spanning Tree), but also Fast Mode Spanning Tree, IEEE802.1s (Multiple Spanning Tree) and IEEE802.1w (Rapid Spanning Tree). Besides the Spanning Tree for Fault-Tolerance, DX-5725XGS also provides a redundant power supply inlet in the rear panel for power-fault-tolerance to ensure a reliable system.

Advanced Network Security Mechanism
As networks grow and branch out to remote locations, network vulnerability increases in importance and administration complexity. Customers need to protect networks and network services from unauthorized access by remote users. DX-5725XGS provides multiple security algorithms such as Port security, SSL, Web Management Encryption, RADIUS and TACACS+ to protect data communication to ensure data privacy.
