Introduction

DX-5728MG is a Stackable high performance Layer 3 switch with auto-sensing 24*10/100 Base-T ports, 2*10/100/1000 Base-T( additional ) ports and 2*SFP ports( unshared). DX-5728MG is designed to meet the needs of demanding departmental and enterprise connectivity applications that require a high density and low profile solution.

DX-5728MG supports redundant power option via an external Redundant Power Supply unit for maximum network reliability. In addition to its Rate Limiting feature, DX-5728MG supports QoS and Bandwidth Management. This switch is packed with advanced features and a cost-effective solution that brings enhanced security, high flexibility; advance QoS to the network edge, while maintaining the simplicity of traditional LAN switching.

Enhance Performance:
DX-5728MG multilayer switch provides high switch and routing bandwidth within/between workgroups, subnets or VLAN, allowing faster access to networked resource. Moreover, by providing the Gigabit copper and SFP connecting interfaces, allows the users to leverage existing network media and flexibility to increase drastically the network speed to relief the bottleneck at the core of the network caused by the proliferation of bandwidth-hungry application without much extra cost spent.

Routing Features:
DX-5728MG switch provides increased application performance by enabling better bandwidth utilization and enhancing network performance. Wire speed routing and a non-blocking architecture mean fewer dropped packets and in improved routing performance. Providing multiple routing features such as RIP I, RIP II, OSPF,BGP-4, IGMP v1/v2, DVMRP, PIM-DM and many more, this device would provide you more flexibility and efficiency in your office network.

Comprehensive Traffic Control/Management:
DX-5728 MG has ability to classify traffic at the network edge and allows networks administrators to set rules based on traffic types, which ensures that applications with special bandwidth requirements get the bandwidth they need. Eight levels of prioritization are provided for the traffic QoS. The IEEE 802.1D Spanning Tree Protocol prevents loops in the network topology. The use of QoS and hardware-based routing helps decrease network latency and jitter. TOS and DiffServ (Differentiate Service) are provided to strengthen the high-level requirements of traffic management. Moreover, DX-5728MG also provides the Rate Limiting to help network administers to better allocation of bandwidth.

Flexible System Management:
The system can be managed and monitored via SNMP/RMON protocol through computer using network management software or via an Internet web browser. This easy-to-use application expands the pool of administers capable of performing complex network configurations. Network managers can import, export, or modify individual port settings, VLAN configurations and SNMP traps. Comprehensive LED indicators are located on the front panel to assist network administrators in troubleshooting. Port mirroring feature provides a non intrusive mechanism for traffic inspection across the whole switch.
