1.0 WARRANTY POLICY

From the date of sale by Dax Networks Limited (Dax), all Qualified Dax Products (QDP) are covered by a maximum 3-years carry-in warranty, against manufacturing defects and workmanship under normal use.

2.0 WARRANTY

Dax provides this extensive warranty to all QDP in order to establish outstanding quality of service to all Dax customers to give them a high return on their investment in Dax products.

3.0  SCOPE & DURATION OF WARRANTY:

Dax warrants each QDP purchased hereunder against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of three years from date of sale by Dax.

Dax at its option will at no charge either repairs or replace, any Unit during the carry-in warranty period, provided it is returned in accordance with the terms of this warranty to any of the Dax Authorized Distributors or to any Dax Service Centre.

4.0  UNITS THAT ARE QUALIFIED FOR ONE YEAR CARRY IN WARRANTY:

The following Dax Units are qualified for 1 year carry in warranty:

  1. Dax ADSL modems
  2. Dax Power supplies
  3. Dax IP Surveillance


5.0  DEAD ON ARRIVAL (DOA)

The Unit is termed ?DOA? if it is found not working within a maximum of 45 days from Dax invoice date.  DOA Units can be exchanged with a new Unit within these 45 days.

6.0 END-OF LIFE (EOL)

If a Unit is declared as EOL, or announced for technological obsolescence, Dax will attempt to replace it with a functionally close equivalent. This decision is absolutely at Dax discretion. In any case, no monetary benefit will be rewarded or can be claimed by the customer.

7.0 UNITS RETURNED FOR REPAIR WITHIN THE THREE YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD:

Any QDP returned within 3 years, from the date of purchase (Dax invoice date) can be handed over to Dax Service Engineer (DSE) or sent to Dax Service Center for service warranty.

  1. If a customer hands over the faulty Unit to DSE, the DSE will attempt to repair the Unit and handover the repaired Unit back to the customer.
  2. In case, the DSE is unable to repair the Unit, the DSE will send the faulty Unit to the Dax Service Centre. After receiving the repaired Unit back from the Service Centre the DSE will hand back the repaired Unit back to the customer.  Dax will pay the to & fro freight charges but bill one-way freight charges to the customer.
  3. Alternately, the customer may send the faulty Unit on freight prepaid basis to the Dax Service Center. Dax will repair and send back the repaired Unit directly to the customer. The return freight charges will be borne by Dax.


The time for return of serviced Units will be two plus one working days (2 days for servicing + 1 day for testing) plus the actual two-way transportation time.

8.0 SERVICES FOR UNITS OUT OF WARRANTY (OOW):

When a Dax Unit is used by a customer for a period beyond 3 years, the Unit automatically becomes an ?Out of Warranty? Unit. Broadly ?OOW? would cover the following categories:

  1. Burnt Units
  2. Units with non-manufacturing defects.
  3. Expiry of specified 3 years warranty for QDPs.
  4. Expiry of 1-year warranty for non-QDPs.
  5. Mishandled Units


The customer can either send the OOW Unit directly for repair to the Dax Service Center, Chennai on a freight prepaid basis or hand it over to the DSE.  Dax will attempt to repair the Unit at a cost.

Dax will analyze the extent of damage and send the estimate for repair charges to the DSE.  If the customer agrees to pay the charges, Dax will take up the Unit for repairs after receiving the advance payment by DD from the customer.  After repair, the Unit will be sent to the DSEs directly from Dax Service Centre on a freight to-pay basis. If repair is not possible, the Unit would be returned in the same condition on freight to-pay basis. The DSE will co-ordinate with the customer for delivering the repaired Unit. The OOW Unit will be returned to the DSE or Customer, if customer consent is not received in writing for the cost estimate within a maximum of 10 working days.

9.0 WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:

  1. Warranty is applicable only against manufacturing defects and workmanship under normal use. Burnt components or PCBs are not categorized under manufacturing defects.  These are susceptible to burn-outs due to high incoming voltage on telephone lines or from power supplies and also improper Earthling.
  2. Defects or damages to the Units resulting from use of Units in an operating environment other than as specified in the User Manual.
  3. Defects or damages resulting from accidents, misuse or neglect or any natural calamities.
  4. Defects or damages from improper testing, operation, maintenance, installation, alteration, modification or adjustments.
  5. Breakage or damage to the Unit caused due to mishandling.
  6. Units dismantled or attempted to repair.
  7. Units that have had their serial numbers removed or tampered with.
  8. Defects or damages due to spill of food or liquid.
  9. All outer surfaces and all other externally exposed parts that are scratched or damaged due to customer?s abnormal use.


Units if physically tampered with by unauthorized persons.

10.0 JURISDICTION :

 Any dispute shall be subject to exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai.
